The Dark Deserve Love
Amy's POV
I loved hanging out with my friends, especially Sonic, my hero. He was the one that I most truly loved. But I never get to ask him out. Which is a pity, but one day he will definitely accept my love and love me back.
At the Moment, I am at school. I liked school because its a place you can hang out with your friends. We were at Sport. We were playing dodgeball. The teams were evenly picked. Unfortunately, I didn't go on Sonic's Team. But was put on Tails's Team. Tails had started to become of a leader at sometimes. He's being less cowardy. But Shadow caught my eye. He just stood there, no emotion. I could feel his void in his mind. I could feel the soulless in his empty heart. But when the ball came towards him, he caught it and ditched it at someone. Then he stood there again, with his arms folded, just staring into the distance. When class was over, I had saw Shadow walk to the rooftop. I followed him. I stood at a safe distance. I didn't really trust him but when I have to, I do. I saw Shadow on the edge of the building. He was seriously close to the edge. I knew he wouldn't commit suicide. He let the breeze blow through his quills. He looked more soulless now. Not caring about his surroundings. Just standing there, looking into the void in his mind. I walked up to him and asked "Shadow, whats wrong?"
"..." No answer.
"Shadow, you can tell me."
"..."
"Shadow, how bad can it be?"
"You don't know what eternal emotional pain feels. And it has nothing to do with Black Doom."
"Then what is it?"
"Maria."
"I thought you have put your past behind you."
"Unfortunately that is impossible for me. You see there is this feeling that I get that tells me that I am missing something. Once I have this something, I will feel happiness, joy, etc. But I can't get around what is this feeling."
"Ok, I know some things in psychology. So head down to my house 5:00. And make sure that you come there wearing something casual."
"Very well then. And Thanks for the talk, Rose." I blushed. I was dead sure that Shadow saw me blush. He gave me a look that tells me that he did.
"Your Welcome. And thanks for talking to me. And if you need to talk to someone, come and ask me."
"I will keep that in mind." Then the bell went. Me and Shadow went into the maths class. I was second top student. But the person that was beating me was Shadow. 3rd if Tails went into this classroom. But he isn't. So I second. Shadow just knew his maths like a calculator. But he didn't dare talk to anyone, except me after that little talk.

45 Minutes Later
*bell goes*
"CLASS DISMISSED!"
Everyone rushed to the door. I always stay behind so that I don't get pushed around. As for Shadow, he just sat there. Silence, void, emptiness was all the signs I could get from him.
"Shadow, aren't you going home?" I asked him.
"..." No reply.
"Come on Shadow!"
"*sigh* Very well then." He got up and went to the door. When he got to the door, he sighed and ran off. I was about to say something, so I would call him rude but I understand his situation. Then I headed home. When I got there, I got the watering can and watered the plants on the windowsill.
"Hi mum!" I said to my mum.
"Hi sweetie! How was school?" My mum replied.
"Its was normal but one of my friends was being extremely quiet. He only talked to me."
"Who is this friend?"
"Shadow."
"Shadow? You mean the hedgehog that stopped Black Doom?"
"Yeah that's him."
"Oh ok."
"Yeah, since I know some psychology, I'm going to help him relax."
"That's nice of you. When is he coming?"
"5:00."
"Ok then. You better clean up your room because you are doing you psychology in your room."
"Yes, mum."
"And if he wants to he can sleep overnight."
"Cool." So I went to my room and cleaned it up. The problem was that almost everything had Sonic's face on it. So I decided to put all the plushies, pillows, quilts, posters and pictures away. All was left was a pink room. Then I got out a chair and fixed up the bed.
*knock* *knock*
"That must be him." I went downstairs and opened the door. I saw Shadow wearing a dress shirt and some loose jeans.
"Hi, Rose." I blushed at his greeting.
"Hi, Shadow." I said to him
Then my mum came to the door.
"Hello, Shadow." My mum said
"Hi, Miss Rose." I couldn't believe it. Shadow was actually being polite!
"Shadow, are you sure you want to do this? You may feel uncomfortable."
"I'll be fine."
"Ok." He followed me to my room. I opened the door.
"Thanks for removing everything with Sonic's face."
"How did you know?"
"I could tell that your room would be filled with Sonic stuff."
"Anyway, come and lie down on my bed. I will just ask some questions about you and Maria."
"Ok then." He lied down on my bed and just stared at the roof.
"Ok, first question. How far did your relationship go with Maria?"
"We were more than best friends." Shadow kept on staring at the roof.
"Ok then. Did you do anything loving to her?"
"Yes, I helped her carry stuff around, tell her a story, slept in the same bed."
"Ok, Did you ever have a sexual relationship with her?"
"No, not that I can remember."
"Ok, did you ever feel a deep feeling that you need to be with her forever?"
"Yes, I did."
"Interesting, is there anything else you can tell me about your relationship with Maria?"
"Yes but its better if you clear can your mind."
"Why?"
"I'm going to create a world in our minds for you to see what it would be like then."
"Ok then." I cleared my mind. ............................................. Then I saw a image. It was Shadow and Maria holding hands. They were lying down on a simulated earth. Then Maria said "Shadow, I have seen you fight. You are too angry and you lose your mind. That can effect our relationship. So I want you to calm down when someone offends you. You don't need to kill them! Everyone is good. So I wish that you can calm down. I also wish that you help the humans and not kill them. Make them happy. Also, Don't tell Grandpa."
Then Maria kissed Shadow. Shadow kissed back and they held hands. They kissed each other for 5 minutes.
"Maria, if anyone tries to attack us, I will protect you and Gerald, no matter what." Shadow replied. Then the image disappeared.
"I see, you had a deep deep relationship with Maria."
"Yes."
"I need to look at the results and figure out what's the problem with you."
"Ok."
"In the meantime, if you want to, you can sleep overnight."
"Ok, where am I sleeping?"
"You can sleep on my bed, I will sleep on the other mattress."
"Nah, I will sleep on the other mattress. My back isn't as sensitive to uncomfortable places."
"Thanks, that's sweet of you."
"Dinner!" My mum yelled.
"Yes, be down there in a minute!" I yelled back.
"I don't need to eat." Shadow said quietly.
"What about that time at the World Cookie Championship. You ate some of my cookies."
"Lets me repeat that again. I don't NEED to eat. But your cookies were extremely tasty."
"Thanks." We walked downstairs and saw dinner. We had sausages, mashed potato and corn kernels.
"Looks nice, Miss Rose." Shadow commented.
"Thanks, Shadow."

The Next Morning
I woke up and saw Shadow just leaning against the wall waiting for me to get up.
"You sleep like a Princess, Rose." Shadow had commented. I blushed brightly.
"What makes you say that?"
"You sleep soundlessly. I woke up early in the morning. I saw you, you looked so peaceful. You looked like you were having a good dream."
"Yeah and Thank you for the comments."
"Get ready, we need to go to school in half an hour."
"Ok."
I went into the bathroom and took a quick shower. I brushed my hair, put some shine gel, got out the school dress shirt and mini skirt and got some breakfast. Then we walked out of the door. Shadow then picked me up bridal style by surprise.
"Shadow, what are you doing?"
"Taking you to school."
"But we can walk."
"But we can run there." Then Shadow ran as fast as he can. I loved the breeze that passed through my hair. I loved the emptiness of Shadow's face. Nothing is going to stop him. But this was a unnecessary look. But he still kept the look. We then arrived at school. We went to our lockers. (strangely) Our lockers were next to each other. We got out all of the books we would be needing. Then Shadow went up to the rooftop. I followed. Then I saw Shadow on the edge of the building. Shadow just stared into the distance. Then I saw 7 foxes walk up to him and said "What's up emo?"
"..." Shadow gave no response.
"Being seriously emo."
"..."
"So, you want talk hey." Then the leader of the gang got out a gun and fired. I hid in fear. And I felt tears welling up because Shadow is probably dead. I looked up and saw Shadow still there, staring into the distance. I saw no blood. I was astonished by how the hell he survived that. Then the leader threw a punch to his face. Then Shadow caught it.
"Hmph. You attempts are useless." Shadow said to the leader then he threw him into a nearby radiator. Then the other boys are floating in mid air. Shadow must be using Chaos Force. Then he threw them into the same radiator. The leader recovered and fled. The rest of the gang ran after him.
"I'm sorry if you had to see that."
"It's ok."
"Lets go."
"Ok."
School was alright. Shadow always stood on the edge on the building. I felt sorry for him. He couldn't move on because of one thing that he needs. I couldn't figure out what it was. Shadow wouldn't get his lunch so I did.
"Shadow, are you ok?" I asked him.
"Fine, I guess."
"Here, have something to eat."
"Thanks, Amy. So have you figured out what it is?"
"No, unfortunately."
"*sigh*"
"Cheer up, Shadow! I'm sure we will figure out what it is. You just need to feel more happy."
"Remember what I said, I need this one thing to feel happy. Without this I can't feel happy. I have this void larger than the Multi-Verse in my mind. I have this emptiness in my heart. It is impossible for me to be happy without this one thing."
"I sorry."
"Don't be. I'm just a waste of space."
"Don't feel pessimistic! You saved the world many times!"
"*sigh*"
*ring*
"We better head to classes."
"Ok."

At Home Time.
"Ames!" Sonic yelled. "I need to tell you something."
I ran to Sonic and I gave him all my attention. I hope he says he actually has feelings for me! Omg!
"What is it, Sonic?" I asked. He threw me against the locker.
"Why the fuck are you hanging out with Shadow?!?" He yelled at me.
"I was just helping him." I cried.
"Just helping him?!? He's a fucking murderer and you want to help a murderer?!?"
"OMG! SONIC! He saved the world. And this is your way of saying Congratulations?!? You are a fucking jerk Sonic! I've wasted my time chasing you around every second! I just want to give up on you and find someone else, you jerk!" I ran off crying. Leaving Sonic extremely pissed. I ran far away. I didn't know where I was.
"How can this be possibly worse?!?" I yelled. Then it started raining. I headed into a alleyway to keep me dry but it wasn't any help. I was lost, in the dark, cold, drenched in water and was heartbroken. I heard footsteps. I brought my knees up to my face it hide from the stranger.
"GO AWAY!" I yelled into the darkness. I then saw Glowing Crimson Eyes. I saw a figure. It walked up to me. I had just realized it was Shadow.
"Rose, what's wrong? Why aren't you home?" Shadow asked in a extremely warming tone. I loved his warm voice. It always cheered my up. But this time, only a quarter.
"Sonic yelled *sniff* at *sniff* me about *sniff* me hanging *sniff* with you." I cried.
"My dear Rose, don't let faker ruin your life. Here wear this." He handed me his jacket. I was extremely warm. Then Shadow wrapped his arms around me to keep my dry. It was working. I only felt 2 or 3 drops hit me a minute. Then Shadow helped me up. "My house is nearby, you can stay there."
"Thanks, Shadow." This was out of character for Shadow. He is mainly a lone- I mean quiet person that doesn't really care about his surroundings. But Shadow was being kind to me. He even kept me dry. Shadow got onto his motorbike, placing me on the front, and drove off to his house. We stopped by a petrol station so that Shadow can refill his bike. Shadow gave me $500 to spend in the store. I looked around for the coffee machine. I found it and got a warm latte. Then I saw Roses. I decided to buy one for Shadow. Then I bought a Red Bull, packet of Lays chips and a packet of biscuits. I came out and ran to Shadow's bike because it was still raining. I got on the front of the bike and we drove off. We went past many large, wealthy houses. Shadow then parked his bike in a 2 storey house.
"You live here?" I asked
"GUN paid me a lot, so I decided to get a larger house."
"Ok." Shadow asked me to follow him to his room. Inside was a large king sized bed. The walls was black and red but nothing else. But the wall opposite the bed was strange. It had gaps between it and the rest of the wall. It was probably a TV. Shadow asked me to lay down on his bed. I did and it was extremely warm and comfortable. Shadow got me some hot water bottles, quilts and pillows.
"Thanks, Shadow."
"It was nothing. Do you want anything to eat?"
"Yes please, what is there to eat?"
"The quickest I can make is noodles."
"I will have that then."
"Alright." Shadow walked downstairs. I laid there just thinking what has changed Shadow. 2 Minutes Later, Shadow had came up with 2 bowls of noodles. He gave me one and he started eating the other one.
"I thought you didn't need to eat?" I asked him while eating mine.
"Ran into some trouble. Those teenagers came back for some more. Unfortunately for them, they got another ass kicking."
I laughed.
"And I eat to regain strength. I can also build up strength if I eat."
"Umm...Shadow, can I use your phone?"
"Sure, why?"
"Need to call my mum that I will be staying here for the night."
"Well that's if you want to."
"Well, Yeah"
"Very Well Then." He went downstairs and got the phone. I then reached for the box that had the rose I had bought him. Shadow came back up with the phone and he was surprised that I got him a rose.
"Here, I bought it for you." I handed the rose to him.
"Uhh...thanks." He then passed the phone to me.
"Hello? Mum?" I said into the phone.
"AMY! WHERE ARE YOU?!?" My mum yelled at me.
"I am at Shadow's House."
"Ok then, don't stay up too late."
"Yes mum. Bye!"
"Bye."
"Anyway, do you wanna go to the mall?" I asked Shadow.
"It's open at this time?" Shadow asked with confusion.
"Yeah."
"Well first you need to get out of the drenched clothes. I've got some spare clothes you can wear." He handed me a large white tank top, a grey hoodie, some baggy cargo pants and a pair of black and red Nike High Tops. Then Shadow came in wearing a metallic silver shirt and hoodie, blue and green phatties and some silver suspenders (Shadow is obsessed with the colour silver -_-). We got on Shadow's motorbike. Me on the front and Shadow on the back and we drove off to the mall.
The first store we headed into was Badass Cribs. Shadow had bought a shining black tank top, a large red jacket and a pair of baggy jeans. I bought a pink and white zip up shirt, a black and pink mini vest, a pink and white mini skirt, a white ribbon in my hair, black arm warmers, white fingerless gloves, some pink, white and black knee high boots and a silver heart necklace. We also had bought some winter clothes. Then we headed to the nearby restaurant and ran into a familiar person. Rouge.
"Shadow! Amy! It's been a while! How has little Rosy going? And how is Lonely coping with the world?" Rouge asked us.
"Unfortunately, I broke up with Sonic. And Lonely here is feeling better but still is lonely." I replied sadly.
"I'm sorry to hear that. But there are many other men that will fall for you, you just need to catch one." We walked in and had some dinner. I ordered a plain lasagne deal, Shadow had ordered a basket of chips and Rouge kept to her vegetarian diet and ordered vegetarian pasta.
After our meals I needed to talk to Rouge in private.
"Rouge, there is something wrong with Shadow."
"DUH! You just realized?!?" Rouge laughed.
"No there is something that stops him from having at least one moment of happiness once again."
"What he needs is a-"
"A what?!?"
"A girlfriend."
"A girlfriend?"
"Yeah, someone that will raise him when he falls."
"But who?"
"Hmm...hard one."
"Sally?"
"No, not her type and she is in love with you ex."
"Mina?"
"No, she's got one already."
"Uhh...well all you need to do is get all of Shadow's fangirls."
"That's the problem! How many fangirls of Shadow do you know?"
"No one."
"Exactly!"
"How about if we find someone just like Maria?"
"But I don't know what Maria was like. And Shadow hardly talks to me any more."
"How about if I ask him? He talks to me."
"Sure! And hopefully we find this special girl! Oh! Look at the time! Knuckles must be worried about me. He does that sometimes." Rouge and I giggled. Then we said our goodbyes and left for home. When I arrived at Shadow's home. I went inside and said "Shadow, I may have found that something." Shadow's eyes widened. We sat down at the table.
"You may feel uncomfortable but I need answers."
"It's ok. Unless you are insulting Maria."
"You know I wouldn't do such a thing. Anyway, What was Maria like?" Shadow sighed and took a deep breath.
"She was just like you, a beautiful, caring, helpful, sympathetic, loving, friendly, hard working, determined and wishful girl." Shadow commented. I blushed extremely hard.
"And if this is about love, this will prove my happiness." Then he grabbed me and pulled me close to him. Then he kissed me. I was shocked. I was his best choice, and he took that choice. I kissed back with as much passion as he gave me. We just sat there, kissing each other for many minutes. Then I said to him "I never knew the Ultimate Life Form was this loving..."
"Hmph...I never knew a rose could be so perfect..." And from that moment, we had shared our happiness.
